So You Enter a Room Full of White People

If you even notice, do you just say, “Huh…”

Or are you the type to see a problem that needs to be remedied?

Craft beer drinking is, so I’ve noticed, one of the whitest activities in which I participate. I don’t see this as a problem though because I don’t think it is necessary to have proportional representation of all the different kinds of people there are at every event I attend.

Geez… Can’t a guy just get a cheese burger?

Seconds later, reports confirmed Metzger had moved on from the burger menu and allowed his complete frustration to settle upon the restaurant’s exclusive selection of locally brewed craft beers.

The Onion, of course.

If this were real life Metzger’s name would be Jerry and he’d be complaining about the place not having Miller Lite.

Maps of the Eclipse

This one made me laugh:

Waffle House locations in the path of the eclipse

Also important:

That is a map of breweries in the path. Really important.

In an article about local breweries suing for the right to sell distribution rights…

We have this gem of a quote:

Assistant Attorney General Karen Watkins noted that “everything that these brewers are allowed to do is the result of having obtained a privilege from the state.” She said state law was previously silent on payments for distribution rights, meaning it wasn’t clear they were ever legal.

Look at that! She says we need to get permission from the state to do anything. She also implies a Napoleonic legal system. Ms. Watkins, that’s next door in Louisiana where there is a Napoleonic legal system. We don’t have that in Texas. Not yet, anyway…
