I’ve been to that big fish. Last summer in fact.
That was from one of Gerard’s web sites.

We drank a bunch of Leinenkugel’s in Hayward. Lot’s of it. The interesting thing is we can get their goofy flavored beer in Dallas. We don’t get the regular Leinies.
From the link below:
They’ve introduced seasonal flavors for some reason. But it’s best to stick to the original, which is a beer you drink on the shore of a lake.
A Continuous Lean is a pretty cool web site.
I have to say I enjoyed the area very much.
Alas, I did not get a picture of myself in the mouth of the big musky.
The weather was perfect. Lac Courte Oreilles was amazingly clean. You could see the bottom at depths in excess of 15 feet.
The fishing did kind of suck. I think this was due to the fact that it has been quite warm recently. Warm for Wisconsin, anyway.
We rented a house that is associated in some way with Trails End Resort. And, in case you were wondering, the bartenders are all cute.
Posting may be light. Lighter than usual. The family and I are off to Hayward for a week.
As you can see, there is a good opportunity to see some really wonderful kitsch. That is the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Cool, huh?
Check out this detail:
The mouth of that musky is an observation deck!
There is a lot of schlock in Wisconsin. Have you ever been to The House on the Rock?
I can’t wait to take my wife to the museum. They have displays of old outboard motors! It will be so romantic.
This sort of stuff is uniquely American. I don’t recall seeing anything as kitschy as this while in Mauritius. Or India for that matter.
